WGJ Joins “Child Care for All” Coalition

WGJ recently joined the “Child Care for All” Coalition. We believe:

• A woman deserves the opportunity to have both a career and children.

• The early years of a child’s life have a profound impact on his future.

• Affordable, available child care is essential for both the mother and the child.

In Chicago…

• Over 78,500 children do not have access to a formal child care slot.

• And even if they can find a child care slot, the average cost of one child in a licensed child care center is over $10,000 per year.

• Licensed child care providers are leaving the industry for better-paying jobs.
